Opera 4.2, 4.3 splash tool (no calculation needed)

Hie my friends, here is the tool to change opera 4.2 and 4.3 splash screen. With it, anybody can change opera splash image in a few minites. No calculation or special knowledge needed. So, let's start.

1. Download "Splash editor for opera 4.2 and 4.3.bas.zip" from here. Remove .zip from name and save it to "e:/bas/".
2. Create/collect a PNG image. (max image size is 50kb). Rename it to "splash.png" and save it to memory card root ("e:/").
3. Extract opera 4.2 or 4.3 v file to memory card root ("e:/").
4. Run "Splash editor for opera 4.2 and 4.3.bas" with CellularBasicPro. Modded v file will replace the old v file.
5. Repack the v file (from "e:/") in opera jar file and install. Enjoy your own splash modded opera.
NOTE: you can remod a v file again and again, with larger or smaller image, it will not show any error. So,  L E T ' S  S T A R T   N O W.

Great work bro.
I just tested it with dzebb's om 4.4 alpha 4 and it works.
By the way, can you do the same for text strings.
I mean viewing them in text boxes and editing them normally with SAVE button to apply.

Basel bro, thanks for reply. Which text did you mentioned? The texts in v file? And why you need to edit them? Please tell me in details. I'll try to make that tool.

They are placed directly after the hex headers of splash image.
For example "Cancel".
You can see this word using any text or hex editor inside the v file like this.

1. []Cancel

Copy the Code

(00-hex)(05-hex)(Cancel-text)

The square => []
Defines the letters number which comes next to it.
For example: "Cancel" = 5 letters, then the hex code before it should be 5
"Installing" = 10 letters, them the hex code should be 0A not 10 as this number should be converted from decimal to hex.
The hex code => 00
Seperate between deferent strings.
For example:
0005Cancel000AInstalling
You can imagine how it's so hard to edit all these text strings using simple hex editor.
The hex header of the text strings are the same of the splash image beside the headers before position 27
If we added a letter then we should add 1 in hex to all this headers beside to the square before this particular string []
Sometimes there strings are edited for translating to foreign languages or to reduce v file size but in slight mistake in v file will case application error.
